I loved his animation style which is strange because I usually gravitate to "cleaner" animation. Animation that looks realistic or visually appealing, I guess? But the characters still captivated my attention and the simple jerky style animation worked really well.
One interesting thing from the reading was that Joel Trussel said that when he works with music videos he's always second guessing himself, it's like an exercise in paranoia. Now I don't exactly think that's the right way for an artist to approach their work but it was interesting that someone who'd made it far from working in their basement, admitted that they have self confidence issues when it came to making content for music videos.
Since it's all about music video week I want to show you one of the first music videos I remember seeing that I thought was pretty good. I don't think it's as good as some of the ones we saw in class but I really liked it a few years ago. I still have no clue exactly what's going on in the video (so maybe you can enlighten me) but I still like it.
