Muscials

Yeah, I know that many say that guys are not suppose to like musicals. But, they must have been born the 1990s. The 90s babies as I call them, have grew up in a world where each television show has had a musical number in almost every episode. Like we had Phineas and Ferb, even tho it is a 2009 show it still has a number of musicals in one episode but thats what makes that show so great. beside who does not love watching shows where boys have the power to do anything especially at such a young age. Then we got all 3 of the high school musicals. I can not even lie in 6th grade when high school musical firs came out I use to watch it all the time. No lie, the musical numbers and the choreography made this a great movie. Because look at it their were no actually good actors well they were also acting like high schoolers. So someone that was not in high school would most likely be confused. But anything that has a musical in it is probably the best thing in life all together.

The Post on "bullshit"

Thanks to Joe this all I can think about. What around me in perhaps "bullshit". The fact that the Hub only gives you three chicken tenders is perhaps "bullshit". Or maybe the fact that vacationing in a foreign land "bullshit" because you are at risk of being attacked by something or someone. How bout the fact that Chicago police killed an innocent man but no one says anything for a year to two years. That is some grade A "Bullshit" if you ask me personally. I do not care if you are Obama, you took an innocent life but not with 1 shot but with 17 different shots to an already down victim. I honestly think this world is based off of "Bullshit". Because you can look in the news or anywhere and the first thing you will see is some "bullshit" story about anything. In my own opinion, this world is based whole heartedly on "
bullshit"

Audience Based Music Videos

I personally would rather watch a music video based from the opinion of an audience rather than from the band. This is all because from the fans because they will give a straight opinion instead of having the band tell you why the song is the best or just to go get it. Like the one when they just went up to random people on the street and asked what they thought of the song. That is a true video based on people who never heard the song before. My personal favorite was the black guy who was feeling the song all the way through the video. especially when he said that he would take two copies i was laughing so hard. that by itself made the entire video for me. I have never laughed so hard in my life so seeing that made me just lose it. And then the video about the want to be one direction band that was filmed on their phone in their backyard. I like it because it was not a simple music video, if they messed up they would have to start from the very beginning and not just make a cut like famous music videos today. That is a hard thing not to mess up.

Johnny Cash

Before today, I always assumed that since Johnny Cash with the country music genre. I never gave him a chance and now that someone forcefully made me listen to his music, I am in love with the music. I mean that I have heard songs by him but i never thought that a country artist could make songs like that. Especially the song that leeper played today "The Man Comes Around" that song was so deep but you would not expect a country singer to make a song like that. Then when he told us that the song took about six years to make. That is crazy you know how much prayer and thought went into that song. Songs like that are rare to come around, so to hear it in the style of music is amazing. Johnny Cash has a new fan in me. All the music in the world is trash compared to his music. Now i just want to see the movie. But then leeper goes on and shows us this amazingly put together music video, that his fans all around the world made because he died and never got to make a video. you know you are doing something right when you have loyal fans that would do all that for you.

To Old to Game?

When we talked about video games in class, the thought of are you ever to old to game. My answer to that question is Yes & NO, there are games that are for people of age who do not have the same hand eye coordination as the youth of today. Those games are solitary and other card games or anything that comes on a computer when you first buy it. But, is possible for a 80 year old to sit down and play a rousing game of 2k with a youth. But i can guarantee that the final score of that game world be a whole lot to very little. And that is only because the youths hand-eye coordination is a but quicker than that of the 80 year old. Plus, if you want to compare how fast the finger of the youth is moving on the controller to that of the 80 year old. The 80 year old could struggle with the buttons and still manage to give the youth a good game for the first 5 minutes and then they youths stamina will overpower that stamina of the once young 80 year old. But, there is also a 99 year old video game master that shares her joy of video games with her grand children and those of other generations.

Animation Vs Live-action

For some reason the season of Christmas just brings out the attitudes of many, all for the simple fact of bragging about their favorite Christmas movie. From many unnamable sources, they say that people would much rather watch an animated movie than a live-action. That is absolute crap, how does anyone want to watch the grinch the cartoon compared to the live-action version with one of the funniest actors of all time, Jim Carrey. He makes the movie exciting with his unpredictable actions and then his amazing costume is a work of art. So would they rather watch a boring 30 minutes of the Grinch or the hour and 45 minute spectacular of the hairy scary Grinch. Now let me guess, many are probably asking why I talk about the Grinch in a lot of my posts. Maybe, I feel that the movie as a whole receives a bad reputation for scaring little kids. For all those who think the Grinch is a scary movie please go watch The Exorcist and then try to tell me that the Grinch is scary for kids to watch. I could honestly say that the Grinch is in the top five for live-action movies made for kids next to the Cat in the Hat.

Indie Games

I personally was a fan of this movie, but i never heard of it until we watched this in class. It just made me want to become a game designer so I could feel the rush when it is release day and then seeing all the profits. But it seems like it is really stressful when you are constantly receiving emails or tweets asking when the game is over. If i was in that position I would have told them that I will finish the game when I am good and ready to. And if that is not ok with them then then oh freaking well. Then he said he even got death threats from people, please tell me that this is not the dumbest thing ever. A dead threat to the designer of a game, what's next a death threat to Santa because he did not get you what you wanted for Christmas. These people are pathetic for this, one thing you do not ever give death threats but for something as stupid as a video game. That is just a different type of stupid. I never knew the release of a video game could bring out the worst in people. Well not to this extent. I personally have been to tons of midnight releases where fights have broken out for games but this is nothing like getting a threat and being the designer of a game.

The most emotional music video

There is a song by the Rise Against called Make it stop is easily the most tear-jerking music video. This song is about bullying. But if you listen to the song, you might as well watch the music video. This video was introduced to me in 2013 and I promise on everything it made me tear up. The music video is based on three students in high school who get bullied for being different or being attracted to those of the same sex. As the video goes on, the kids are bullied to the point where they are tempted to take their own life because they were not accepted by others around them. This video made me apologize to the people that I went to school with, even tho I did not personally pick on them I have seen them getting picked on or harassed by someone else without stepping in and saying something. The part that really got me about this video is that at the end they start naming off people who took their lives and their ages. The one boy was 13 years old when he was pushed into killing himself. This is crazy because that was the age I was when one of my friends talked to me about killing hisself but I thankfully talked them out of it. I have seen the manliest of men tear up while watching this video.

Let's talk about race

Growing up in a city like Detroit is really hard. But when you grow up seeing that you yourself can not personally succeed in life like any other white person can (not trying to sound racist) but it is not fair. If you would please watch the video in this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vX_Vzl-r8NY this video will change the way your think of life. My father has always told us that life is just a race between blacks and whites and this video proves what he was saying is true. Even after watching this video multiple times in 2 days it still surprises me when it says what is holding us (blacks) back from a fair life as compared to the whites. Not to be racist but this video makes it look like white are still trying to pull the fast one over us blacks. Seeing that slavery ended many years ago, blacks are still being held back from a successful and prosperous life by many things like lower education, unemployment and other things that the video talks about. And even when Blacks think that they are catching up in the "race" they are not. I really would advise everyone of every race to watch the video. Because I did not believe in inequality until I watched this video. But this video made me feel mad and a little upset when it was all over. Professor Leeper I would suggest showing this in class tomorrow only this is a well thought out film and it needs to be shown.

Netflix coming in clutch

As we all know, disney pixar is easily the best thing to watch. Now thanks to Netflix's and a small payment the world of animation and childrens' stories are now available. No this is not just an advertisement for the great company but this is to tell people that do not own Netflix to go out and get it. It is the easily the best thing out there when it comes to watching movies and tv shows. And get this Netflix also has no ads. yes, i said it NO ADS OR COMMERCIAL. Just all the greatest movies in tv shows that the world has ever seen. Like my little cousins favorite is the pixar planes. I have watched them with him multiple times so I know it like the back of my hand. And then the one with the guy in the park playing chess by himself is on there... i think. But still you can watch all the documentaries that you can get your hands on. Like my personal favorite is the ESPN 30 for 30 documentaries, for example the Buz or Barry Bonds or even better yet the Bad Boyz. And if those names do not sound familiar then you must have been living under a rock for many many years.

The best christmas movies ever

Since is the season to be jolly, we might as well just talk about the best and the worst Christmas movies of all time. my personal favorite has to be How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Jim Carrey jut plays the role perfectly. Like for example his facial expressions makes the whole Grinch character stand out overall. Well his character stands out better than the rest of the actors if you even want to call them that. Then next in the top 3 movies as chosen by Justin Coleman, is the epic series of home alone. Each movie Kevin seems to find himself in a sticky situation as he and his family try to celebrate Christmas like a normal family. Kevin who is played by Macualay Culkin, has been lost in New York, His own home. Easily one of the best movies because it does not seem to talk about the one and only santa like any other Christmas movie out there. The lack of Santa Clause in this movie allows for the storyline to develop into basically this little kid trying to protect himself and his Christmas. Then trailing the list at number three is the one and only polar express, not only is this movie the best because of it's musical number entitled "Hot Chocolate" but also for it's journey to the unexplored North Pole. The problems along the way were all minor when they made it to the North Pole. Not only did they get to see Santa but one of the lucky kids received the official first gift of Christmas.

Documentaries

I had a conversation about the videos shown in class Tuesday with my dear friend Joey, and he told me that being a broadcaster is basically like a documentary. I don’t want to be rude but what are you trying to say Joe. Is all things that have to do with television a documentary. Then I told him that I want to do something in the world of sports and then he had the nerves to still say it is still like a documentary. I understand that ESPN and associates have come up with a documentary series named 30 for 30. But I personally find those more interesting than any other type of documentary in the world. I would rather spend forty five minutes to an hour watching a documentary about a sports team or an individual sports star. Like I know that they made one on the bad boys. For those of you who don’t know, the so called bad boys was the famous Detroit Pistons in the years 1974 to 1994. In those years the Pistons won numerous titles and even went back to back as the best team in the National Basketball Association or NBA for short. But just the fact that someone would try to compare the world of sports to just  a documentary about something in the world. I understand that everyone has a right to think differently but I personally think that that was a really really dumb thing to say. No offense to my friend Joe. But it just doesn’t make any since what so ever.

The Process of Making a Disney Pixar Movie

Upon further research into the world of pixar and animation, I found out that a complete Disney pixar between four to seven years. The process begins with development/research trips to the places that the movie will take place. Then after the storyboard and script are made then the animation process can begin. Starting with rough drafts of characters then the actual colors can be established and make the character brilliant. After about 6 to 8 months the animation progress is basically over. Then the studio takes months on top of months to get voice overs and put the movie together. Depending on how the lips of the characters and the voice over link up the editing process is easier an easier. Like the Lion King took approximately three years but that is because they wanted to find the right voices for the part. Also the studio ran into some difficulties with nature. While working around the clock on the animation Los Angeles was hit with a horrible earthquake which set back the studios production progress seeing that no one could make it to the studio seeing that the roads were messes up. This is just an example of how the world of animation is challenging.

Are children literary Geniuses?

After reading the article by Isaac Singer, it had me thinking about a lot of stuff. So if grown ups are so called hypnotized by big names and media, wouldn’t that make them normal in this society. Seeing that everyone is either obsessed with a sport team, a player or even an actor. While children are either caught up in the world of children’s media or are to small to know what is going on around them. So I have to strongly disagree with Singer, because its not really fair to try to compare a child to an adult that is just careless when it comes to literacy simply because they don’t care anymore. When you are growing up, the school system is forcing you to learn literacy all the way till you get out of college. That much time being forced to take English is simply making adults become lazy when it comes to literacy.

Sorry this has been edited a couple of times.
