Hey Errrbody,
Here goes part two everybody. Let’s talk about the
story now. So I don’t know how many of you have actually seen the movie, but
the basic plotline is this: Cobb is a skilled extractor whose occupation is to
emerge himself into people’s dreams and steal their ideas for major
corporations (essentially corporate espionage, but on a much grander scale).
Well, his last job that he needs to complete is not to steal an idea from
someone’s mind, but rather plant one there instead. And that’s just the basic
plot folks. Talk about confusing. The fact that this movie took me at least
three viewings to fully grasp what all went down is in it of itself proof of
why this movie is so insane. The characters feel very, very real. The direction
is superb as is the acting. For a movie that shows the audience some of the
craziest ideas and effects, it still manages to anchor itself down and make the
viewer feel as though the events in the film could really happen. Part of the
reason for this feeling of reality is that both Nolans (Christopher and his
brother Jonathan) incorporate exposition and explanations of the dreams into a
dialogue that flows smoothly and is actually comprehendible to all audience
members.
Well, that is as about as much brief summary of why I
love Inception as I can give, but if you would like a lecture on it, just ask
me.
Here is the background on my phone.
