I just wanted to write a short post on the Passing Hearts short film we watched on Tuesday. It kind of stuck with me all break just as a reminder of what we can be thankful for. In that case, I suppose it was a rather fitting film to watch.
The film was rather moving. It showed, even through the most awkward scenes-such as where the boy meets the two parents of his heart donor- the emotions involved in a situation such as this. I liked how the film kept people suspicious of how odd and how off the situation is, though some people might have guessed way earlier what was going on. The final revealing moment was executed in a perfect way; it hit pretty hard. I think that, while it was a sad story- someone had to lose their child- it was also a happy story- someone else's child was saved. This bittersweet story, as shown in how happy seeing the boy made the two parents, can also serve as a reminder on what we can be thankful for. It is not necessarily for our own happiness, but for others as well. A fitting film to watch before Thanksgiving break!
