Good morning, good noon, or goodnight! The name’s Shelby Deak, but I also go by Cosmo as per my art alias: CosmicRust.  

I’m from Batesville, Indiana and have lived there for eight years. I have a twin brother named Spencer who’s at Purdue studying Computer Engineering. I have another young brother: Joshua, two dogs: Ginger and Spike, and a cat: Sheldon. Here at HU my roommate’s name is Jazlyn and we have a Betta Splendens fish named Ted. 

My major is Animation and can I just say how PUMPED I am to be using a Wacom Cintiq for the first time in my life? Anyhow, I’ve been doing digital art since I was thirteen years old and I want to keep doing until I’m 113 years old. I love animation of all kinds and I’ll usually be front and center at every first showing of any animated film. 

My favorite TV cartoon is Steven Universe, but I’m also fond of Invader Zim, We Bare Bears, Gravity Falls, Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends, Transformers (all generations), and Wander Over Yonder. My biggest inspirations are Craig McCracken and Jessica Peffer just to name a couple. My favorite animal is the African Painted Dog, but I’m open to pretty much every canine as a favorite. I absolutely adore 8-bit music, with a big of orchestral and the occasional punk-rock here and there. I really like stuffed animals, so don’t be surprised if I bring a Beanie Baby or two to class in my bag. I also like Homestuck and I might wear a Nepeta hat to class sometimes.

I love people and if you ever wanna discuss animated movies, please feel free to interrupt me! I love going on and on and on and on about silly movies or cartoons. Oh, and I’m a HUGE Transformers buff, so I’ll gladly talk your ear off about Transformers and its affiliates. G1, Beast Wars, Unicorn Trilogy, Animated, Prime, Rescue Bots, IDW comics, I love it all! my favorite character is Cyclonus by the way.
