JonathanDunston: Intro

Hello, I am Jonathan Dunston of West Lafayette, Indiana. I was home-schooled from elementary through high-school, and I haven't grown 2 inches since I was 12, which is exactly how much my dad says he grew since he was 12. He also says my voice deepened when I was 7. I think I skipped puberty.

I am at HU to major in Animation in Digital Media Arts. I've been making cartoons in my head since I was like 7.  I used to write comics starring stick figures (before I knew how to draw anything else) called Stick Kids. Unfortunately, I don't know what became of most of the comics I wrote.

My heroes include John Lasseter, Pete Doctor, and Andrew Stanton, and the other heads of Pixar, but especially Stanton, because he wrote and directed Finding Nemo, WALL-E, which are two of my favorite films. On television, the writers I most admire are Dan Povenmire and "Swampy" Marsh, the creators of Phineas and Ferb. I went into a short depression when the show ended earlier this summer.

When I'm not drawing, watching, or thinking about cartoons, I'm looking online for arguments and debates on stuff (it's so hard to find good debates), or to see if there are still any weird animals I didn't know existed. The blind cave fish (it has no eyes) and the water deer (it has tusks) are my latest discoveries.

But I didn't feel like drawing those, so here is an Indian purple frog.

  1. That's really cool! I look forward to meeting you. :) My mom actually knows Pete Doctor (or rather, his wife), I guess they know each other from college or something. See you in class tomorrow and, again, look forward to meeting you. :D
