The affects of fandoms

Fandoms.
Are they good or are they bad?

So most of you know what a fandom is, but for those of you don't, a fandom is like a cult gathering (mostly on social media) for basically anything. Its a kingdom for fans. (FUN FACT: fandom's for bands like to call themselves bandoms.)

I myself am a member of many fandom's and I would like to discuss the pros and con's of fandom's
Pros:
friends who enjoy the same things as you.
Memes related to the things you love.
Inside information on the topic of the fandom.
You hear the latest news as soon as it happens
Leaked photos
Intellectual conversations with people who understand the feels
Shipping wars

Con's:
SPOILERS!!!!!!

The people who in the fandom but know nothing about the actual topic
The people who think that they own the fandom and therefore think they can be b***es

So do the pros out weigh the con's? Well... That depends on the fandom and the fan. Fandom's are great! If you're caught up on your show/book/music/movie/whatever, they're great! If not, get caught up first or the fandom will spoil half of the highlights for you. And once you step into the fandom, you can never get out of it. Ever. If you like one picture on Instagram, BAM! The fandom will forever haunt your feed whether you want it to or not! Fandom's are amazing and I think that everyone should be in at least one fandom, but you definitely have to be careful with them.
