This movie takes place in 2020's were the boxing audiences wanted to see more of a show. So if the board couldn't give the people what they wanted, they put robots in the ring and let them slaughter each other each other. Charlie years before robots took over the ring Charlie was the leading heavyweight champion. When he thinks that nothing could get much worse, then he hears that his ex-girlfriend died, and his son Max is all alone. Charlie desperately in need of money he quickly comes up with the idea of turning over to his ex-girlfriend's aunt his son for one hundred thousand dollars. The wealthy uncle agrees but on one condition he needs to take care of Max for the summer.

Max found a sparring robot in the junkyard after a couple hours Max was able to get the robot out. After a new battery and a quick cleaning, they found a name on his right side spelling Atom. Charlie quickly realizes that this could be the shot that he was looking for and teaches atom new moves the help him in the ring. Charlie also realizes that robot boxing may just help his relationship with is son.
