My Favorite Music Videos

 My Favorite Music Videos

For this blog, I thought I would share a few of my favorite music videos.

1. The first one I wanted to share is called "Song For Someone" by U2. This song was released in 2014 as part of their Songs of Innocence album. The music video was released in 2015 and was produced by the acclaimed director Vincent Haycock, starring Woody Harrelson and daughter Zoe star in a 9-minute short film. The plot is a prisoner being released from prison and finally being united again with the one they love.

2. My second favorite music video would have to be "Breezeblocks" by Alt. J. The main reason I like this short film so much is because the entire thing is backwards, with an ending you totally don't expect. This video was directed by Ellis Bahl and was released in 2012.

3. My third favorite music video would most definitely be OK Go's "Needing/Getting." This video was also released in 2012. The band set up over 1000 instruments over two miles of desert outside Los Angeles. A Chevy Sonic was outfitted with retractable pneumatic arms designed to play the instruments, and the band recorded this version of Needing/Getting, singing as they played the instrument array with the car. The video took 4 months of preparation and 4 days of shooting and recording. There are no ringers or stand-ins; Damian took stunt driving lessons. Each piano had the lowest octaves tuned to the same note so that they'd play the right note no matter where they were struck.
