Documentaries

I'm going to bring it back. Yes, I know. "Why more documentaries?" Well, I just want to blog on why I think I'd like to make one someday.

So first off you meet some pretty incredible people. Lots of them. And you get to learn their story and follow them with where they are going for a time. So who wouldn't want to do that? I find that incredibly desirable, personally.
Also, I love that most of the documentaries we watched weren't high quality films. Sure high quality productions give amazing sights, but I feel that by doing that it might take away from story. Sure if the equipment's open to you, by all means use it. But don't make that the top priority. Theres a beauty in simply taking a camera and a recorder and following someone wherever they go.
As a person who doesn't think that they will become a screen writer, it sounds wonderful to have a story already in front of you. A real story too, which is another thing I love. Of course you have to play with it a bit, and find how to tell it, but the basics are there for you. Also, you can decide how you want to tell the story.
