Sometimes, Simple is Best.

3D animation has come a long way. Today we can see that we can use it to create unbelievable realistic people and scenery, and as amazing as that is, that obviously doesn't mean that that's the best use for it. Just as there's an infinite variety of different styles of drawing, there can be just as many for animating. I enjoy all of it, really. But sometimes it's the simple animations that have so much more charm to them. Below I'm going to attach for you a few of my favorite 3D animations. So relax, and enjoy!!!

These first two are from a YouTuber named Charlie Grubel. His simple characters and low frame rate gives these YouTube gamers wonderfully adorable personalities.

This short, called Roadkill Redemption, has characters and environments with fairly simplistic shapes and textures. If it were any more detailed, I think it would take away from its humor over such a disgusting subject.

Another of my favorites. This short, Dark Noir, has pretty detailed looking characters. It also combines 2D and 3D animation in a cool way.

Sintel is by far one of my favorite animated shorts. It's part of Blender's open movie project, where lots of independent animators working together using Blender, a free 3D animating software, to create a feature short. (their next project is coming out soon, so be on the lookout for that.)
