MTV

Hola classmates,
Hope your day was wonderful.

I have a serious problem with MTV and the kind of reality shows they show. MTV is known for their music videos, and good for them. But the way some of their reality shows are shown kind of make me feel awful about society. I believe that MTV should just have stuck with music videos and not ventured out into their programs. Shows like 16 and pregnant is ridiculous and shows like Jersey Shore are absurd and should not be televised. Kids should not want to look up to those shows and think to themselves, wow, I want to be just like them when I am older.

Even though I did just sit there and bash and say that MTV should stick to the music not the shows, there is a specific show out there called Catfish and it is a documentary about how dangerous online can be. I think that show could be very beneficial and those shows should be more of the focus on MTV to promote educational shows kind of like the educational film Super Size Me, mentioned in a previous blog post. Sorry I went on a rant about MTV. It has been an issue dwelling inside of me since being in the stage and generation where MTV was all everyone was watching. If MTV continues to be a thing, all I am saying is go back to the “old school” ways and be careful about what they put on for kids to grow up watching.
