Keith Lango on Animation

Though I am not an animator, I can completely relate to what Mr. Lango has to say in his Blogpost called "The Fools Errand, Part 1." What I took away from the article is that Lango wants to encourage his readers to be unique and create their own content. Not only that, but to be one's self when creating something.

Lango goes into detail about the complexity of the animation involved in the film Ratatouille, but encourages his readers to not attempt to create the same type of image. He seems to believe that because indie filmmakers and animators have such limited time and resources, we should not waste all of our efforts on creating the one shot or scene that "makes" the film.

Rather, we should focus on content, storyline, and meaning. I tend to agree with him, believing that if we focus too much on the aesthetics of a film, we lose sight of the message we are trying to portray. As with all things in life, balance is so important...especially when it comes to creating an interesting and interactive film.
