Meh... :/

Usually when we watch a short films in class, I usually find the films kind of boring.

Confusing (kinda like wtf moments).

And very sad and very depressing!
(Jon Snow knows the feels)
I'm just being honest really. There was never a time that felt so uplifted and peaceful after I watch a short or stop-motion film.  Is ok to watch a sad and confusing film once in a while, but not every time. I'm kind of getting sick of watching those kind of videos. This is how I feel mostly all of the films that I've watch in that class overall.

  1. I've felt the same way much of the time. A lot of these films, especially some of the more recent animated ones, are hard for me to get into. I don't know if it's something wrong with us, if it's that we've been conditioned to hold Disney up as the example of what "good" animation is, if it's a matter of cultural differences, or if the media we're used to has made us too lazy to get anything out of these films. It's probably a combination of all of those. I am glad that we've been exposed to a lot of unique things we probably never would have taken interest in on our own.

  2. Ya same here, I totally get where you're coming from Jackie. There are definitely many moments in this class where I've been like, "come oooonnnn, when can we get to something that actually excites me?" I guess for me I'm used to the more action packed, easy understanding story animations similar to Disney like Jonathan said. For this class I think it's just annoying sometimes because I don't want to have to work super hard to understand something and to get the message out of it. But at the same time, I think pushing ourselves like that is the only way we'll ever grow in our deep understanding of what the message really is in these pieces of art.
