We live in a world where we try not to have tragedy in
life, we don’t take the time to be sad and let ourselves have a moment to
ourselves, we either get angry and let out feelings come out in harmful actions
or we just act like everything is okay because, if it didn’t happen to us, then
it doesn’t matter.
The World of Glory was sad for me in many of ways, not
just because of the death of the people in the beginning, but the life of the
German man who acted as our guide. Usually we don’t want to hear the story of
the “bad people” in the world. You don’t see or hear of that many movies like
this one coming out to theaters, a WW2 film about a German will feelings throughout
an evil act like that, it was a kind slap in the face that not everyone, who
lives in different countries, are from a different religious group, or who
livings down that one street your parents tell you never to go down, agrees with
the ways that they are told to living out life, but we’re all told, that if we
follow someone who has true happiness all figured out and live to our own
rules, all while follow the rules that are set down to keep everyone happy and
save from the evil of the different people, we will be happy.
Well this is my thoughts, sorry if they aren't that good, I usually have trouble getting the words from my head onto paper or online. I will edit it later.
I love this post and how you spoke it how it really is. I do agree that as humans we just want the happy in the world. We don't want the lose, sorrow, or pain. I'm not sure if that's just a bad or good thing. I believe that's just how we're wired. The World of Glory was kind of a reality check and just gets us into what the world is really like. Coming from a Christian home and going to a Christian school, nothing really is that bad. But we see our world's past and even future and it's just devastating. This is real life though, we need to grasp that. This is a great subject to talk about though, and I love how you just spoke what you were thinking. Good blog!
ReplyDelete"Usually we don’t want to hear the story of the 'bad people' in the world." Funny, I think I'm actually the opposite. I always want to ask what the bad guys were thinking? why would they do that? how do people become like that? The moral depravity of man is the ultimate tragedy.
