Was it really a tragedy?

Hello,
I am really late on this blog, but here I go. I am not a digital media major, but class was very interesting to me on Tuesday. The films we watched in class were very emotional to me. Fridge was very confusing and in a way not a tragedy. When I think of tragedy I assume death or many other things, like anyone else would. Fridge for some odd reason was not really a tragedy. I saw some other blogs about this and felt the same way so I figured I would contribute. Tragedy is simple, it is when bad things happen to someone because of something they did. That definition just does not sum up the film and I did not classify it in the genre of tragedy. I would say that the film titled Small Hands that we watched in class was definitely a tragedy. It was emotional, way more emotional than I thought it would be.
Something I found even more interesting would be the quote. For those who forget, the quote is.. "Speak what you want, not what you ought to say." After we discussed this quote, it kind of got stuck in my head and I got to thinking how applicable this is to anybody's life. Mr. Leeper listed off some reasons why we let ourselves not say what we really mean. The one that meant the most to me would be the we want to avoid conflict so sometimes we hold back what we really want to say.
Overall, this class was a real eye opener to me. It showed me that there are multiple ways to go about digital media and many aspects that go into a film. When he read off the prayer of the rooster and the prayer of the pig, it just made me think and opened my eyes to a digital media world.
I have included this picture because I guess you could say that I was unaware of everything that Digital Media takes. But, the more and more I am in this class I realize why it is such an amazing thing.
