Let's see... looking back on this week, the whole fairy-tale topic was really interesting. I didn't really understand it at first, but once we starting talking about stories and story-telling, it totally made sense. Stories are so so so important in our culture, and everywhere in the world as we already talked about. But the big thing I realized is that Jesus talked in stories all the time, basically wherever he went! One of the Gospels even mentioned how that was like, the only way Jesus taught. And it shouldn't really be that surprising. Look, Jesus is kinda like, the all-knowing God of the universe, so he understood how stories impacted us. He chose also to teach this way because people wanted to listen! He wasn't like a typical pharisee of the time, telling others what to do and sorta bullying them around. With his parables, Jesus brought the seeker out of each one of his followers. He made them question and wonder what he meant through his stories. This is something I feel so many evangelists forget. This is the way we need to be sharing the Gospel! We need to ultimately understand what people want to hear and stop answering questions that people aren't even asking in the first place! And what if they don't wanna hear even the name of Jesus? Then don't talk about him. Just do what he would do and give the guy a hug. Love him! Do things that make him wonder why the heck you would take time out of your day for a complete stranger. That's the kind of evangelizing that gets to peoples' hearts.
