I always love in movies when you see something iconic and epic. Something that strikes you and stands out. It struck me that while we were sitting in class talking about how most stories steal from other stories. Part of me thought that doing this makes stories worse because then you already assume what is going to happen or you could potentially get bored or annoyed by the fact that this is something you have seen over and over. But I think that this is the very thing that can make a moment so potent. Because when you see a  familiar image it subconsciously reminds you of all of the other times you have seen this portrayed so powerfully. This could cause all of those previous feelings and emotions to come rushing back to combine with the feelings and emotions towards the present situation you are viewing. Such as when the protagonist risks his life for an undeserving enemy, it rings deep because we have heard it a thousand times in different books and stories. When we are watching this scene we will be feeling the same feelings caused by when we found out Christ gave his life for us. But it is not just Christian themes but every time we have seen this same scene in other movies it will add to the feelings we are  having at this present moment.
