Fairies in the Grass

“Old Nurses do not tell children about the grass, but about the fairies that dance on the grass.” G. K. Chesterton.

Have you ever tried to read some of the books in the bible just for fun? And by books I don’t mean the ones that have stories. I mean the ones with the laws? I mean if that is your idea of fun good for you, usually when we read for fun in the bible, we read either the stories or something with deep meaning (Psalms, Proverbs and Songs of Solomon in my case). I know those parts of the bible are very important to understand how they had to live in at that time, but if I had to pick between that and well a story about a lady driving a tent stake through someone’s body, I pick the later.  The laws of the bible are kind of like reading a story about grass, you would only want to do it if you wanted to learn something new right? While the other books are kind of like the stories of fairies that dance on the grass, stories that would just seem boring, but stories that have new life to them, ones that you almost never seem to outgrow no matter how much you try to tell yourself that you’re too old for, because what people are usually happier when they have hope and faith in something that keeps them thinking about going how they can overcome the dangers of this world and not how you should always follow the rules of this world (Not that you shouldn't follow God, but he did make us to dream bigger then we think we can dream)
