Leeds Animation

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I'm going to start this blog off with a quote from the reading of Leeds Animation:

"They[Leeds Animation] aim to produce films which explore issues and stimulate discussion in an entertaining, often witty and accessible way, and also advocate positive action. Their cartoon style, with its nod to the tradition of newspaper 'funnies', meant they often succeeded in reaching audiences that wouldn't normally see themselves 'relating' to the issues involved."

After reading about Leeds Animation I pulled out a couple important factors from this article that stood out to me about this group. From the quote above, Leeds Animation films were described to analyze issues and provoke positive actions from different discussion. I believe that it's important to be able to create discussion from films and also be able to film something that pulls people in. Another factor that Leeds Animation enclosed was being able to involve audiences with their films that would not normally be able to associate to the type of film created. Not only was Leeds able to create discussion from their film, but pull in audiences that normally be attracted to such entertainment. It is important that Leeds achieved these two factors and I believe that is why this group has been successful in the past couple decades.
